My Forgotten Year

August 27, 2015

Willam F. Jack, a retired professor of Russian literature from Minnesota, USA, wrote My Forgotten Year, a book in which The Master and Margarita plays an important role.

The protagonist, the burnt-out Russian literature professor Matthew Eastman, walks into his office one chilly afternoon and discovers that he has «forgotten» the most recent year of his life: it is now 2005, not 2004. He must live 2005 as if nothing was wrong, while trying to retrieve 2004. Hypnotherapist Joan Lindall helps him walk the dark terrain of his missing year. They reach the point in 2004 when Matthew begins his research on The Master and Margarita

The rest is for you to discover. The author offers his book for free on iTunes for a limited time. Until September 15, 2015, you can download it at no cost with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, or with iTunes on your computer from this link.

After September 15, 2015, the book will be available at the price of 5.99 USD.

Some feedback from readers

«What a book on books or about a book. A book full of connections to The Master and Margarita and literary devices. I laughed and cried, often on the same page».

«Thank you for all the wonderful quotes and lyrics from songs and music. You describe so well all the different states of mind and feelings. The sorrow and regrets, when you find out that there is no second chance».

«This book is an homage to Bulgakov’s Master and Margarita and to other great Russian literature, at the same time taking you on a heavy and troublesome journey in order to answer the questions: what is cowardice, what is love?»
