Description

On October 19, 2019, an exhibition was opened in the Bulgakov House in Moscow with a series of photos of The Master and Margarita, made by the Italian photographer Enzo Rosamilia (°1955).

Enzo Rosamilia was born in Auletta in the Italian region of Campania. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. He currently lives in Castel San Giorgio, he teaches photography at the Art Institute of Salerno and he is the artistic director of the Rosamilia Photo Gallery.

This series of The Master and Margarita was not his first project related to Russian literature. In 2013 and 2015, Enzo Rosamilia had already had exhibitions in honour of Anton Chekhov in Rostov and in Taganrog, the writer's birthplace.

Many of the photographs in his Maestro e Margherita series do not show characters. According to Rosamilia, he wants to create sufficient space for the viewer to use his own imagination when interpreting.
