Vladislav Borisovich Galkin

Today it was announced that the famous Russian actor Vladislav Bori-sovich Galkin died in Moscow at the age of 38. He played his first role in a film when he was 9 years old, and would play in more than forty films. For the visitors of this website, he is perhaps best known as the young poet Ivan Bezdomny in the TV series Мастер и Маргарита by Vladimir Bortko.

Vladislav Galkin was born on December 25, 1971 as the son of actor and director Boris Sergeevich Galkin. In 1992 he graduated from the Shchukin Theater School.

When he was 9 years old he did, without his parents knowing, an audition for the role of Huckleberry Finn in the movie The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn of director Stanislav Govorukhin, and immediately he could make his debut as an actor.

In 1999 he graduated from the directing department of the Galkin Institute of Cinematography. Immediately after this he played in Voroshilov Marks-man, another film by Govoroechin. Most of the roles he played later were those of tough men. In that sense, his role as Ivan Bezdomny in Мастер и Маргарита was an exception.

His last role was in the TV series Kotovsky, which will be launched on March 1 on the television channel Russia-1.

A month ago Galkin underwent treatment in the Botkin hospital in Moscow for an inflammation of the pancreas. The suspected cause of death was cardiac arrest.

One year ago died Aleksandr Gavrilovich Abdulov, who played so grandi-osely the Koroviev character in Vladimir Bortko's TV series.
