In his film A Dog's Heart, director Vladimir Bortko shows some nice scenes with examples of propaganda meetings and lectures in the Soviet era.

In the building where Professor Philip Philippovich Preobrazhensky has got his cabinet, the communists started to redistribute the housing space into communal apartments. On behalf of the residents of the building they organised meetings and lectures to get them on the right ideological track. On this excerpt you can see a lecture given by the chairman of the House Committee Shvonder, who is clarifying some ideas of Leon Trotsky. Poligraph Poligraphovich Sharikov, Bulgakov's prototype for the new Soviet man, is there to listen because he wants to show his loyalty to the party, but almost falls asleep.
