Sergei Glebovich Desnitsky (° 04/04/1941) is a Russian actor and director. In 1962 he graduated from the renowned Theater School of the Moscow Art Theater MKhat, to which he was associated as an actor from 1965 to 1990. He also learned directing there as an assistant of the directors Boris Liva-nov and Oleg Yefremov.
In 1991, Desnitsky began acting at the Nikitsky Gate Theater in Moscow. Since January 1999 he's heading the moderate Chekhov Memorial Theater in Melikhovo.
In 1990, he and his wife, the actress Vera Desnitskaya, created a company which filmed three three masterpieces of the Russian literature: The Lady with the Dog by Anton Chekhov, In Paris by Ivan Bunin and The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.
