Pavel Orinjansky was born on November 22, 1955 in Yampol, a small town in the province of Vinnitsa (Ukraine). He is probably the most famous illustrator of The Master and Margarita. It started with 13 illustrations, and grew to a portfolio of more than 40 grafical works, die nu enkele covers en verder alle hoofdstukken van de roman beslaan.

At the entrance of the Bulgakov house in Bolshaya Sadovaya number 10 in Moscow you can admire a nice selection of life-size images of this portfolio.
