Pavel Orinjansky was born on November 22, 1955 in Yampol, a small town in the province of Vinnitsa (Ukraine). He is probably the most famous illustrator of The Master and Margarita. It started with 13 illustrations, and grew to a portfolio of more than 40 grafical works, die nu enkele covers en verder alle hoofdstukken van de roman beslaan.

At the entrance of the Bulgakov house in Bol-shaya Sadovaya number 10 in Moscow you can admire a nice selection of life-size ima-ges of this portfolio.
