Opera by Levente Gyöngyösi
July 3, 2018
Today we added to this website a page on the opera A mester és Margarita, written by the Romanian composer Levente Gyöngyösi (°1975).
In 2016, Gyöngyösi started working on A mester és Margarita, an opera-musical version of Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel, blending elements of contemporary opera and light musical entertainment in a pleasant, clear style. That’s why, on June 24, 2017, at the world premiere of the piece, a rock band played along with a symphonic orchestra at the Bartók Plusz Operafestival at the National Theatre in Miskolc, Hungary.
The libretto for the opera-musical has been written by the poet, translator and playwright Szabolcs Várady (°1943), based on a scenario written by Robert Bognár (°1947) and András Schlanger (°1961).
