The Master and Margarita in classical music
Besides popular rockers and musicians there were also many classical composers inspired by The Master and Margarita.
In classical music there is a whole pleiade of artists telling the story of The Master and Margarita in their musical themes.
Quite noticeble is the large number of operas. And at the same time : the number of operas that never was staged. The story of The Master and Mar-garita is so complex that it is hard to put on scene when you require a symphony orchestra and a choir. Some had undergone a suffering, Bulga-kov worthy. The Russian composer Alexander Gradsky, for example, wor-ked exactly 30 years on his opera Master i Margarita. But it seems the effort paid off, because the opera, which was released on CD in 2009, lasts 3 hours and 5 minutes.
There's a possibility that I missed some. So if you know about others, please don't hesitate to contact me.
