Evgeny Anatolevich Baev is a guitar player, composer and music teacher. He was born on July 15, 1952 in Pervuralsk. In 1977 he graduated at the Ural Mussorgsky School of Music. He's not one of he best guitar players, but he is internationally appreciated for his compositions. He performed in Italy, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia and the United States. In 1999 he was awarded at the International Composition Contest in Moscow for his concert fantasy Мастер и Маргарита (The Master and Margarita).

Vera Makhan, born in Angarsk in 1975, plays the domra, which is a Rus-sian instrument similar to a mandoline. She became one of the most ap-preciated Russian domra musicians and plays with the most famous orchestras. She often plays duets, with piano player Elena Karetnikova or guitar player Dmitry Tatarkin. Her repetoire varies from traditional Russian folk music to arrangements of classical works - with a special interest in contemporary music, often in close co-operation with the composers.

Her version of The Master and Margarita which you can listen here is a one time performance from 2003.

By following the videolink hereunder you can watch a recording of Baev's concert fantasy made in 2011 in the city of Enerhodar (Ukraine) with Raisa Kosareva (violin) and Alica Kim (guitar).
