Misha Mawashi is the pseudonym of Mikhail Fedorovich Nits (°1985), from Kostanay, Kazakhstan. It is not clear why he chose this pseudonym. A mawashi is the loincloth that the Japanese rikishi or sumo wrestlers are wearing during training and competition.

After high school, Misha went to Chelyabinsk to obtain a law degree from the local university, but he never worked as a lawyer.

He started his music career in 2009 as a rap artist, but does not consider himself a rapper. He considers himself a poet who uses the style of rap culture as a means of conveying his poems.

In 2016, Misha Mawashi moved to Voronezh, where he wrote most of the songs for an album called Питбуль [Pit Bull], which was released in mid-2017. In the fall, the rapper toured in Russia and Belarus with concerts in various cities.

In 2018, Misha Mawashi founded the Маваши Group or Mawashi Group. However, he does not mention the other members of the group anywhere. On May 15, 2021, the group presented two new albums at once at the Pravda Club in Moscow. One of these albums was Эпиграф к продолжению [Epigraf k prodolzheniyu] or Epigraph on the sequel.

One of the songs on this album is Мастер и Маргарита [Master i Margarita] or The Master and Margarita.
