Moriarty

On April 22, 2014, Moriarty played at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium, where they presented the song Long Live The (D)evil, which was introduced by singer Rosemary Standley as being inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita. It was recorded on their next album Epitaph in January 2015.

Lyrics

It's time to go now
On a very last flight
We're invisble below these cloaks
Made of night

It's time to ride and follow
The devilish knight
To a place where we both know
We won't ever need a fight

And if the devil set me free
Long live the devil
And if the good becomes the bad
Long live the evil

This story was set on fire
By a man with no name
A man who was never ever granted
In peace nor fame

And if the devil set me free
Long live the devil
And if the good becomes the bad
Long live the evil

But how evil is the man
Oh how evil is the man
Who can set us eternal
I say how evil is the man
Tell me how evil
Can he be

And as the flames grew higher
Well he tried in vain
To burn his own labour
And the words still remain
The devil set me free
Long live the devil
And if the good becomes the bad
Long live the evil

But how evil is the man
Oh how evil is the man
I say how evil is the man
Who can set us eternal
I say how evil is the man
Tell me how evil
Can he be.
